I started working on this website when I was 14 years old and a grade 8 student at Trinity, NYC. My mom was diagnosed with aggressive Young Onset of Parkinson's Disease when she was just 42. I started working on this website when I was 14 years old and a grade 8 student at Trinity, NYC. My mom was diagnosed with aggressive Young Onset of Parkinson's Disease when she was just 42. She was always looking for new research, tips to slow down progression, things to improve symptoms, participate in clinical trials, top tips from group learning, and find a community like hers. Her "tribe" is what she calls it. I then decided to dedicate 8-10 hours a week post home-work time, to create this curated website, an engaged community with events and podcasts and an active newsletter that educates, shares and inspires "her tribe" to stay fit and on-top-of-their-game. Hence this simple, large font, easy to browse informative moversandshakers.info was born. By Empowering every voice, bridging every gap - my goal is to be a small beacon of hope for Parkinson's patients especially those in marginalized communities who suffer the most without support. Additionally, for those reasons, I pushined for policy change by engaging our elected Senators/ Representative at the Capitol to co-sponsor the National Plan to End Parkinson’s Act (H.R.2365/S.1064). The bill was signed into a law last July by President Biden.
